GCC MEMBERS CLUB NIGHT 25/01/23 – “All About Trees” by David Rendle

​​The evening was devoted to David covering the topic “All About Trees”. Coinciding with the Sunday Outing on 5th Feb and the Set Subject on Trees / Forests due on March 1st, David tackled the subject about the why, what, where and how.

​

A variety of prints of trees in all their different glory from club members were hanging in the club room and a variety of EDI images were shown to complement the story board David presented.

​

David gave examples of master painters and photographers to research their work on trees. These included painters Albert Namatjira; Hans Heysen; Frederick McCubbin; Arthur Streeton and photographers Ansel Adams; Beth Moon; Richard Wong and Peter Dombrovskis.

​

The meeting concluded with David offering some suggestions of where some stands of photogenic trees could be used as subjects for the Trees/Forests set subject.

GCC FEBRUARY MEETINGS

Unfortunately, as your journalist was overseas during February, there has not been any chronicles for this month. Normal service will be resumed in March.
